Daniel's Seventy Weeks

Chapter 9 in the book of Daniel is a most remarkable portion of Scripture in that it seems to give a fairly precise prediction as to when the Messiah would appear in Israel.
This article by Oliver Greene, (1915-1976), reasons that Daniel's prophecy pinpoints an exact time period that would exclude any candidates besides Jesus. No matter how you count it, it points to a period of time about two thousand years ago. The Book of Daniel was not included in "The Prophets" section of Hebrew Scripture, but rather in "The Writings" section with the Psalms, Proverbs, etc. For this reason it is not read in the week readings of Jewish Synagogue's that read portions from the Law and the Prophets.
